FIFAN is looking for its artistic director or director

Visit International Film Festival of Archaeology of Nyon (FIFAN) whose next edition will take place from August 31 to September 5, 2027, is looking for a researcher Artistic Director to carry out its editorial line and programming and contribute to its development in Switzerland and internationally.

At the crossroads of cinema, archaeology, heritage and new forms of storytelling, FIFAN offers a program of films and immersive experiences complemented by meetings, conferences and workshops.

Your mission

Within the Festival Directorate, mandated jointly by the Roman Museum of Nyon and the’FIFAN Association, You are responsible for the editorial line and programming of FIFAN.

In close collaboration with the operational department, you ensure, among other things:

the definition and implementation of the editorial line; ;
the programming of the films; ;
the development of immersive programming; ;
the design of workshops, conferences, meetings and debates; ;
the identification of the invited guests and the intervener; ;
the artistic coordination of the selection committees; ;
the contribution to the constitution of the juries; ;
the scientific and cinematic quality of the content; ;
active monitoring of productions and new forms of creation in the fields of cinema, archaeology and heritage.

You are actively contributing to positioning and the visibility of FIFAN in Switzerland and internationally and develop relations with relevant film, scientific and cultural networks.

Your profile

You have a Proven experience in film programming, artistic direction of a festival or a cultural project and an excellent film culture.

You have a keen interest in the fields of archaeology, heritage and the transmission of knowledge. Knowledge of immersive creations and new audiovisual forms is an asset.

You are able to build and defend a demanding editorial line while remaining attentive to the diversity of audiences and the accessibility of the programming.

You have a professional network in the film and cultural sectors and are comfortable in an international environment.

You are very proficient in French and English. Knowledge of German is an asset.

A position with high artistic responsibility that allows contributing to the development of a unique festival that brings together cinema, heritage, science, and new forms of creation.

You join an organization based on close collaboration between the Roman Museum of Nyon and the FIFAN Association and work in a team with the Operational Directorate.

Place of work: Nyon, with the possibility of working remotely for part of the activity.

Activity rate: 50%, smoothed out over the year.

Salary: Annual gross salary according to the following scale, taking into account experience (CHF 75’000 to CHF 120’000 at 100 %, adjusted pro rata to the rate of activity).

Significant availability is required during the main programming phases, as the festival approaches and during its execution.

Indefinite contract with annualized working hours.

Entry into force: to be agreed, no later than January 1st 2027
