Tocas of origins

In Serra da Capivara National Park, in the northeastern Brazilian state of Piauí, the walls of the rock shelters - called tocas - are covered with a multitude of rock paintings. Witnesses to a forgotten memory, frozen in a distant past, these silent works seem to tell stories whose meaning has faded with time. Some evoke a strange sense of familiarity, as if they echo something universal and nourish the imagination far beyond words.
