Thorin, the last Neanderthal

Located in the Rhône Valley, the Grotte Mandrin is the subject of a fascinating archaeological investigation. Excavations carried out by Ludovic Slimak have unearthed numerous fossils and flints, attesting to a Neanderthal presence dating back more than 80,000 years, as well as the arrival of the first Homo Sapiens in Western Europe 54,000 years ago.
