The Balchiria mystery

3,000 years before Stonehenge and the statue-menhirs of Filitosa, an enigmatic being is carved on a stele in southern Corsica. Is it a divinity or a demon? A warrior or a sorcerer? And what was his function? This recent and exceptional discovery, dating back over 7,000 years, is the oldest artistic representation of the island of beauty, and sheds light on its prehistory. The archaeological investigation takes us from the Balchiria excavations in Corsica to the four corners of the Mediterranean, in Greece, Spain and Sardinia, to understand this mysterious sculpture.
