PECULIAR SITUATION, PECULIAR EDITION!

TRUE TO ITS BIENNIAL TRADITION, FIFAN HELD ITS 12TH EDITION ONLINE.

As with every year, the festival offered a glimpse of the latest archaeological research and a chance to travel from civilization to civilization through time.

The 2021 program focused on glacial archaeology, a new field of research born over twenty years ago and destined to disappear as glaciers melt. Two films presented this discipline, complemented by exclusive interviews and reports produced for the festival.

A session was presented from the Musée Bible+Orient in Fribourg, partner of the festival, during which two films were shown. The first dealt with the excavations carried out in Palestine in search of the Ark of the Covenant. It was followed by an exclusive interview with Thomas Römer, biblical scholar and administrator at the Collège de France. The second film dealt with the history of the Vatican.

To reconnect with the pleasure of direct contact, and thanks to the improved health situation, we were able to screen the award-winning films in Nyon on Friday June 11, 2021, the day before the "Roman Day" organized by the Roman Museum.

We were delighted to present this edition online, and look forward to the next.
